Queen Elizabeth

I really like this portrait that Irving Penn did of Cate Blanchett as Queen Elizabeth when the movie “Elizabeth” came out.  It’s hard to find on the internet so I won’t show you, but if you’re a Vogue reader, you know what I’m talking about.  So that inspired me to go to Greensboro, rent a costume, and beg a girl who looks like English nobility to model for me.  This is how it turned out:

Lit with a huge umbrella, fill panel, and a gridded hair light on a boom stand. Noice!

Her skin looks so ivory and flawless. The costume was worth the trek to Greensboro!
